Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the destruction of a memory when a battery is replaced, by supplying the power from the battery to the memory through a connector in the device where the memory and the backup battery are attached to a memory board and the power is supplied from a main power source and the battery. CONSTITUTION:A memory 2 and a backup battery 3 are attached to a memory board 1, and the internal wiring is so provided that the power is supplied to the memory 2 not only from the battery 3 but also from the main power source through a connector part 4. A connector 5 is attached to the board 1, and a connector 6 attached to a lead wire 7 is connected to the connector to supply the power to the memory 2 from the battery 3 through the external lead wire 7. When the battery 3 is replaced, the connector part 4 is inserted to the main power source, and connectors 6 and 5 are disconnected while supplying the power from the main power source, and a new connector 6 of a new battery 3 is inserted to the connector 5 to supply the power to the memory 2, and the board 1 is disconnected from the main power source, and the new battery is attached to the board 1. Thus, contents of the memory 2 are prevented from being destructed.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to a memory board device in which a backup battery can be replaced without destroying memory contents. FIG. 1 is a block diagram of a conventional memory board device. In the drawing, 1 is a memory board, 2 is a memory, and 3 is a backup battery. Both the memory 2 and the bank-up battery 3 are attached to the memory board 1. Power is supplied to the memory 2 from the battery 3, and the main power is supplied through the connector part 4. The internal wiring is designed so that power is supplied from the battery 3 (t' in the figure), and even if the memory board 1 is disconnected from the main power supply, power can be supplied from the battery 3 to the memory 2 to prevent the memory contents from being destroyed. However, when the battery reaches the end of its lifespan and is replaced, the memory contents are destroyed. Therefore, the conventional method is to transfer the memory contents to another spare memory board device, replace the battery, and then transfer the memory contents again from the spare memory board device to the memory board device whose battery has been replaced. I have no choice but to take it'2. Ta.

That is, power is supplied from the battery 3 through a route of '7-6-5-2, and connection and disconnection can be easily performed using the connectors 5 and 6. FIG. 3 is an explanatory diagram when the battery 3 in FIG. 2 is replaced with a new battery 3.

That is, when it becomes necessary to replace the battery 3 due to the end of its life, etc., insert the four parts of the memory board l into the main power supply, disconnect the connectors 6 and 5 while receiving power from the main power supply, and replace the connector of the new battery 3. 6 is inserted into 5 so that power is supplied to the memory 2 from the battery 3, the memory board 1 is disconnected from the main power supply, and a new battery 3 is replaced with the old battery 3 and the memory board l. Therefore, even when replacing the battery, power is always supplied to the memory 2 from either the main power supply or the battery, so the memory contents are not destroyed, and the battery replacement can be done without the memory board 1 being the main power source. Since this can be done while unplugged from the power source, it has the advantage of being easy to do.
