Abstract

PURPOSE:To peel surely a transferred paper without disturbing the toner image on the transferred paper, by bringing a conductive brush, to which a bias voltage is applied, to the transferred paper, which is brought closely into contact with a photoreceptor, to discharge the transferred paper. CONSTITUTION:The toner image, which is developed by a developing device, on the surface of a photoreceptor 1 is discharged by a discharger 2 and reaches a transfer equipment 3 and is transferred to a supplied transfer paper 4. The transferred paper 4 to which the toner image is transferred is brought closely into contact with the photoreceptor 1 and reaches a conductive brush 5. An AC bias voltage is applied to the brush from a power source 6, and tips of many conductive brush hairs 5b stood on the surface of a columnar core 5a are brought into contact with the transferred paper 4, which is brought closely into contact with the photoreceptor 1, while rotating in the direction of an arrow to discharge the transferred paper 4. Consequently, the attractive force of the transferred paper 4 is weakened, and the transfer paper 4 is peeled from the photoreceptor 1 by its solidity and weight. Thus, the transferred paper is peeled surely without disturbing the toner image on the transferred paper.

Conventionally, electronic copying machines transfer the toner formed on the photoreceptor to transfer paper, then peel the transfer paper from the photoreceptor and transport it to a fixing machine. The transfer paper peeling device uses a separation belt, a peeling claw, etc. There are known methods that use a static eliminator to remove static electricity from the transfer paper to weaken its adhesion to the photoreceptor and peel it off.

However, the former method of mechanically removing the toner has the disadvantage of causing disturbances in the toner on the transfer paper after peeling off, and defects in image quality, and the latter method of removing the toner using a static eliminator requires a high-voltage power source for the static eliminator. Since the static eliminator used AC corona discharge, there were problems such as the generation of ozone.

This invention was made with the aim of improving this problem, and by bringing a conductive brush to which a bias voltage has been applied into contact with the transfer paper that is in close contact with the photoconductor to weaken the suction force of the transfer paper, the transfer paper is moved from the photoconductor to the transfer paper. To provide a transfer paper peeling device for an electronic copying machine which is designed to peel off the transfer paper, and to ensure that the transfer paper can be peeled off without disturbing the toner particles on the transfer paper.

This invention will be described in detail below with reference to illustrated embodiments. In the figure, I is a photoreceptor (not shown) of an electronic copying machine, and an optical system for exposing an original to be copied is formed in the peripheral area, and a photoreceptor is formed on the photoreceptor at 10%. A developing device (none of which is shown) for developing an electrostatic latent image is provided, and the toner on the surface of the photoreceptor 1 developed by the developing device is neutralized by a static eliminator 2 and then transferred to a transfer device 3. and is transferred onto transfer paper 4 fed by a paper feeding device (not shown). The transfer paper 4 on which the toner image has been transferred reaches the conductive brush 5 of this device while being in close contact with the photoreceptor 1. The conductive brush 5 has a large number of conductive bristles 5b on the surface of a cylindrical core 5m to which an alternating current (or pulse) bias voltage is applied from a power source 6.
The tip of the conductive brush bristles 51) contacts the transfer paper 4 that is in close contact with the surface of the photoreceptor 10 while rotating in the direction of the arrow to eliminate static electricity. The attraction force of the transfer paper 4 is weakened by the neutralization by the brush 5, and the transfer paper 4 is peeled off from the photoreceptor 1 by its stiffness and its own weight.

The transfer paper 4 peeled off from the photoreceptor 1 is sent to a fixing device (not shown), where it is fixed, and then discharged from the photocopier.

In the above embodiment, the conductive brush 5 is formed in a roll shape, but as shown in FIG. 2, the same effect can be obtained even if the conductive brush 5 is formed in a rectilinear shape with the width of the photoreceptor 10 being vague.

As described in detail above, this invention brings the conductive brush 5 applied with a bias voltage into contact with the transfer paper 4 that is in close contact with the photoreceptor 1 to remove the electricity from the transfer paper 4 and weaken the attraction force with the photoreceptor 1. Since the transfer paper 4 is peeled off from the photoreceptor by the elasticity and weight of the transfer paper 4, problems such as toner and toner particles on the transfer paper 4 are not disturbed or missing, unlike conventional mechanically peeled ones. In addition, since static electricity is removed by bringing the conductive brush 5 into contact with the transfer paper 4, a high-voltage bias power source like a conventional static eliminator is not required. In addition, since no discharge is performed, there is no risk of ozone generation, and an appropriate static elimination effect can always be obtained without being affected by the water content I, resistance value, paper thickness, etc. of the transfer paper 4, so that the transfer paper 4 can be peeled off. can be done reliably.
