PURPOSE:To obtain optimal silencing characteristics for each type of domestic freezing refrigerators, by attaching an additional silencing element to a silencing chamber that is provided as a common constituent part for a plurality of types of refrigerators. CONSTITUTION:A suction pipe 9 is attached to an upper portion of a suction- side silencing chamber 3, and at the same time, a resonance pipe 11 closed at one end thereof is also attached to a lower portion of the chamber 3 in the manner that the inside of the pipe 11 is communicated with the inner space of the chamber 3. With such an arrangement, optimal silencing characteristics can be obtained by appropriately selecting the volume of the added silencing element of resonance pipe 11.
