Abstract

PURPOSE: To effectively avoid resonance of vane groups of steam turbine etc. by selecting the position of cutting the connecting member after coupling and assembling the group of vanes with the shroud at the vane top and midle-part-connecting member.
CONSTITUTION: Vanes 2 planted on a shaft are connected at their top by means of shroud 4 and are also connected at the middle by a circular fastening member 3' like stab or wire etc. The fastening member 3' which is for enhancing the rigidity of the vanes and adjusting intrinsic frequency of vane groups, is cut into 2 pieces at the place which is selected as suitable for avoiding resonance based on measured data, after assembling. The resonance can be avoided because the intrinsic frequency of fundamantal vibration type decreases by 20W30cps. The place to be cut is calculated by using the measuring data, but should be within the range which is allowable from the point of view of the rigidity.
