Abstract
PURPOSE: To enable to stop combustion of only a flue to be subjected to stacking and replacing operation by a method wherein a gas conduit is inserted into a horizontal gas passage of a coke oven and a flue other than a flue subjected to stacking and replacing operation is heated by gas supply from both ends of the horizontal gas passage.
CONSTITUTION: An upper part of a vertical pipe 11 in a side of flues 2a, 2b to be subjected to stacking and replacing operation is detached therefrom and a gas conduit 12 is inserted into horizontal gas passage 5a, 5b so as to reach a leading end thereof to the innermost side of said gas passage and a tailing end of the gas conduit is connected to the upper part of the vertical pipe 11. Thereby, through the usual switching operation, a gas is supplied to a flue of the innermost side from a flue 2c. Further, in the vicinity of the leading end of the gas conduit 12, a closing member 13 is mounted to prevent a gas from being flowed into the flues 2a, 2b through a duct 7. Thereby, because a gas is supplied into flues 2c, 2d adjacent to the flue 2b from both ends of the horizontal gas passages 5a, 5b by usual switching operation, combustion management is made easy and a temp. of the flue 2c radiating much heat can be maintained to a predetermined temp. without damaging brick.
