Abstract

PURPOSE: To manufacture the titled steel products with less CaS cluster inclusion by adding a specified amount of Ca to molten Al killed steel having a restricted composition so as to regulate the S and Al contents of the molten steel.
CONSTITUTION: Molten steel contg., by wt., 0.05W0.20% C, ≤0.50% Si, 0.20W 2.00% Mn and ≤0.040% P or further contg. ≥1 kinds among ≤0.100% each of Nb and V, ≤0.5% each of Cu, Ni and Cr and 0.100W2.000% Mo is treated with ≤70ppm Ca to fix sulfide as CaS, thereby controlling the Al content of the molten steel to 0.001W0.020% as well as reducing the S content to ≤20ppm. Thus, steel products for a line pipe with less CaS cluster inclusion and superior cleanliness can be manufactured.
