CONSTITUTION:A DPCM coder 3 consists of a subtractor 31 to which a video data equivalent to one line from an A-D converter 2 is applied as video data for one block's share, a forecasting device 32, a nonlinear compressor 33, an adder 34, and a code converter 35. A local demodulation signal from the adder 34 is applied to a delay circuit 5 equivalent to one sample, the output and that of the code converter 35 are applied to an additional circuit 4, a signal from the delay circuit 5 is fetched when the video data equivalent to one line is finished, and it is added to the finished part of the video data equivalent to one block for transmission. At the transmission side, the finished value of one line in the demodulation output of a video data and the added value are compared for the detection of error.
