Abstract

PURPOSE: To perform waste water treatment efficiently and stably by setting the target concn. of mixed suspended solids in an aerating vessel automatically from the measured value of the water temp. in the vessel and controlling the amt. of return activated sludge from a settling vessel automatically.
CONSTITUTION: Three kinds of transducers, a dissolved oxygen meter 9, a water temp. gage 7, and densitometer 8 for mixed suspended sludges (MLSS), are provided in an aerating vessel 2, and measurements are carried out. The meter 9 controls the rate of blast from a blower 6 in such a way that the concn. of the dissolved oxygen in waste water maintains a constant value at all times. The gate 7 measures the temp. of the waste water and feeds its analog electric signal via a converter 10 to an operator 11 which operates the optimum MLSS concn. at said water temp. and outputs the same to a controller 12. The densitometer 8 detects the MLSS concn, in the waste water, and feeds the same via a converter 13 to the controller 12 which controls an excess activated sludge withdrawal valve 5, whereby sludge is withdrawn.
