Abstract
PURPOSE: To increase the rate of reaction and reduce the treatment time in an aeration vessel by maintaining the pressure at the water surface in the aeration vessel at 3W10kg/cm2, and subjecting waste water to an activated sludge treatment with the biological membranes generated with catalytic materials permitting easy sticking of microorganisms in the vessel.
CONSTITUTION: Waste water is fed from a waste water storage tank 1 into an aerating vessel 2 by means of a pump 5 and a supply pipe 14. While the waste water is circulated by a circulation pump 6, it is subjected to an activated sludge treatment by the microorganisms membranes stuck on catalytic materials 3. The pressure of the water surface in the vessel 2 is controlled to 3W10kg/cm2. Part of the water derived from the bottom part of the vessel 2 joins to the waste water supplied by the pump 6 into the vessel 2. The rest of the water derived from the bottom of the vessel 2 is ejected through a piping 15 and an ejection port 16 into a flotation separation vessel 4, where it is fed to a sludge receiver 10 by a sludge scraper 9. This sludge is discharged through a piping 17.
