Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain the titled resin, having a high halogen content and low solution viscosity, and suitable for a laminated boared used in a printed circuit, etc., by reacting a specific liquid epoxy resin with a halogenated polyhydric phenol and a halogenated monohydric phenol.
CONSTITUTION: (A) A liquid epoxy resin, e.g. diglycidyl ether of bisphenol A, which is a glycidyl ether of a polyhydric phenol having two or more epoxy groups in one molecule, is reacted with (B) a halogenated polyhydric phenol, e.g. tetrabromobisphenol A, (C) a halogenated monohydric phenol, e.g. tribromophenol, in an amount of 1W10wt% based on the total weight of the reaction raw materials and if necessary (D) a polyhydric phenol in the presence of sodium hydroxide, etc. as a catalyst under heating.
