Abstract

PURPOSE: The titled polyurethane composition, consisting of a specific NCO component and an active hydrogen component, e.g. oxyalkylene ether of bisphenol, having a high hardness and moderate flexibility, and capable of giving a beautiful coating surface without an irregular color.
CONSTITUTION: A composition prepared by incorporating (A) polymethylene polyphenyl polyisocyanate as an NCO component with (B) (i) oxyalkylene ether of bisphenol, preferably propylene oxide adduct of bisphenol A, (ii) a high polymeric polyol having an equivalent of 200W2,000, e.g. caster oil polol, and if necessary (iii) a low-molecular polyol, e.g. glycerol, having an equivalent <200 as an active hydrogen component in the form of the component (A) as a solution (A) and the component (B) as a solution (B). The ratio between the NCO groups in the component (A) and the active hydrogen groups in the component (B) is 1W1.2, and then an optional component, e.g. a plasticizer, is preferably added to the solution (B).
