Abstract
PURPOSE: To easily provide the obtained titled base with high-temperature resistance and desired optical property, by etching the surface of Al or an Al alloy with hydrofluoric acid or a fluoride.
CONSTITUTION: In order to read an expression on a diaplay device, it is necessary that the PCS (print.contrast.signal) value of the display device is higher than a certain level. In order to obtain a large PCS value, it is necessary to raise the reflection factor of the base of the display device. In addition, a base resisting to a temperature of about 350°C is requested. The base of the display device for use in optical recording, satisfying these requirements is prepared by etching the surface of Al or an Al alloy with hydrofluoric acid or a fluoride. This base can withstand temperature as high as about 350°C and has a desired optical property, i.e. reflectance of about 50% or more, brilliance of about 150 or less and a PCS value of about 0.6 or more.
