Abstract
PURPOSE: To raise the stability of a working platform and its support legs by providing in a vertically movable manner a legs stabilizer having a space for housing sea water, to the support legs at the lower part of an elevating type working platform to be used in various work for marine exploitation.
CONSTITUTION: At the lower part of a working platform 1, a leg-stabilizer 5 is provided midway to support legs 2 in a freely vertically movable manner. The stabilizer 5 consists of three sliding parts 6 attached slidably to the periphery of the support legs 5 and a connector 7 for the sliding parts 6 and is vertically moved independently in parallel with the working platform 1 by means of an elevator 8 provided inside the sliding parts 6. In the sliding parts 6, a housing space is formed which can be utilized as a ballast tank through which the sea water is charged or discharged for controlling buoyancy or as a storage tank for fresh water, fuel oil, powder, etc. Thus, the stability of the working platform and its support legs can be raised by properly moving vertically and supporting the stabilizer 5 in place in order to restrain the displacement of the support legs 2 by tidal wave, wind, etc.
