Abstract

PURPOSE: To perform the gelation of a coated layer uniformly, by blowing gas against coated layers before gelling from gas injecting ports provided on non- contact curved surfaces of gas supplying bodies while keeping the curvature of the layer smaller than that of the surface of gas supplying bodies and by passage of said layer between the gas supplying bodies through air.
CONSTITUTION: A support 2 having coated layers 4 to be subjected to gelation on its both-side faces is traveled between zigzag arranged gas supplying bodies A, B having gas injecting ports 14 on their noncontact curved surfaces, and is caused to gel. In this gelling method, gases are blown on said coated layers before gelling, from slit-shaped gas injecting ports 15 of noncontact curved surfaces of gas supplying bodies A having the smaller curvature than that of curved surfaces of gas supplying bodies B, while the body 2 is passed between the noncontact curved surfaces 16, 17 and is supported to keep the wave-shaped condition so as to gel the layers. Thus the uniform gelling is performed.
