Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce operation sound and operation force by putting a pausing mechanism in operation by a reversible motor for reel driving and an electromagnetic plunger which operates a power transmission mechanism for a reel brake and a reel. CONSTITUTION:During recording and reproduction, a motor 1 turns normally (CW), an electromagnetic plunger 2 for a clutch is in operation, and a brake 5 is released while a reel clutch 6 is in operation. Then, the turning of the motor 1 is transmitted to a take-up reel 3 and a pausing mechanism 7 operates for pause release to press a capstan and a pinch roller against each other, so that a tape runs at a constant speed.
