Abstract
PURPOSE: To separate an alcohol from a fermented liquor by evaporation using only an evaporator, by a method wherein four evaporators are combined to constitute two sets of double effect evaporators, and the vapor generated by the evaporators is used as a heat source for a preceding stage of recompression.
CONSTITUTION: The evaporators 1 and 4 and the evaporators 2 and 3 are respectively combined to constitute the two sets of double effect evaporators. A fermented raw liquor is preheated by heat exchangers 5, 6, 7, 8, then fed to the first evaporator 1 through a pipe 9 to be subjected to distillation and is passed through a pipe 10, the evaporator 2, a pipe 11, the evaporator 3, a pipe 12 and the evaporator 4, and a concentrated liquid is discharged via a pipe 13. The vapor emitted from the evaporator 1 is fed to the evaporator 4 being under a reduced pressure via a pipe 14 and is utilized as a heat source for the final concentration of the fermented liquor. The vapor generated in the evaporator 4 is fed through a pipe 15, a compressor 16 and a pipe 17 and is utilized as a heat source for the evaporator 1. The condensation of the heating vapor at an element 4' in the evaporator 4 is limited to a part, and it is extracted through a pipe 18 in its gaseous state. The vapor thus extracted is condensed in the heat exchanger 7, and the condensate is mixed with a condensate liquid discharged from the element 4', an insufficient portion of heat is compensated for by the steam fed from an element 4". The evaporators 2 and 3 are in the same relationship as above.
