Abstract
PURPOSE:To detect an interlayer short circuit of electric winding such as a troidal coil for closing plasma etc., by making a frequency analysis in order in the course of energizing the terminal voltage of a block coil of a low voltage side, and comparing this resulted frequency analysis with a data which is set in advance, or a stored data in the past. CONSTITUTION:Terminal voltage of a block coil 24 is detected by a detector 36, and is Fourier-analyzed by a frequency analyzer 54. Its result is compared with a set point of a data setting device 58, or a data in the past, and whether an interlayer short circuit exists or not is detected by a short circuit deciding circuit 50. The frequency analyzer 54 observes in order a power spectrum of high frequency, which is generated due to transient phenomena in a layer short circuit, etc., in the course of energizing a coil. Accordingly, an absolute value of a detected value of the detector 36 for detecting a variation of voltage, which is caused by the interlayer short circuit does not exert a direct influence on the frequency analyzer 54, and block coils 14-22 are electromagnetically coupled with the coil 24, therefore, even a slight variation of voltage due to short circuit of the coils 14-22 is detected by monitoring the power spectrum.
