Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance the rate of fuel consumption of a direct injection type Diesel engine by providing two injection valves spraying the fuel toward two different parts, where both shall work at the time of large load and either of them shall work at the time of low load.
CONSTITUTION: An engine's body 9 is equipped with injection pumps 10A, 10B in the tangential direction, in connection to injection valves 8A, 8B through discharge pipes 11A, 11B. An amount regulating rack 12A of the injection pump 10A is connected to the top 14a of acceleration pedal 14 by a wire 13A so as to spray the fuel from the injection valve 8A in the full-operating range. Another amount regulating rack 12B of the injection pump 10B is, on the other hand, connected to the top 16a of a member of an approx. T-shaped lever 16 by a wire 13B. A protruding piece 14c is provided on the acceleration pedal 14 in order to rotate this lever 16, and when the amount of a stepping has attained the angle θ the lever 16 is turned against a spring 18. Thus the injection valve 8B is actuated.
