Abstract
PURPOSE:The titled composition which is highly viscous when at rest and contg. stably dispersed solid lubricant, etc. and becoming a constant-viscosity liquid independent of temp. when in use, is prepared by dispersing melamine and isocyanuric acid in an aqueous liquid medium contg. a gum substance. CONSTITUTION:An aqueous lubricant composition is prepared by incorporating 0.01-20pts.wt. gum substance selected from xanthan gum, azotobacter gum, and scleroglucan, in 100pts.wt. aqueous medium such as a solution of a water-soluble org. compound, e.g., ethylene glycol in water, followed by dispersing 0.01- 30pts.wt. adduct of melamine with isocyanuric or cyanuric acid. The composition, having pseudoplastic viscosity, little changes its viscosity with temp. It can be used more advantageously in the field of metal cutting, plastic work, etc. in which conventionally cooling has been required or an aqueous lubricant has been used for the prevention of oil sludge pollution, and further used widely as a lubricant for a variety of common apparatus, business machines, etc. involving heat generation or requiring heating.
