Abstract

PURPOSE:To control a picture forming element, by detecting the temperature and the humidity at a clean area with comparatively good ventilation within a device and the temperature at an area to be detected and calculating the relative humidity at the area to be detected based on the above-mentioned detections. CONSTITUTION:The 1st temperature and humidity detectors 45 and 46 are installed at the area free from the attachment of the toner, etc. with a reduced effect of gas, etc. within a device to detect the relative humidity at a development part 11. The detection signals of these detectors are supplied to a measuring circuit 47 to measure the temperature and humidity at the corresponding area. The result of this measurement is supplied a microcomputer 25 via an A/D converter 35. On the other hand, the 2nd temperature detector 48 is provided close to the outside of a development tank 11a of the part 11. The detection signal of the detector 48 is supplied to a measuring circuit 49. The result of this measurement is supplied to the computer 25 via the converter 35. Thus the relative humidity of the part 11 is detected through an operation carried out by the computer 25.
