Abstract

PURPOSE: To manufacture an Al alloy sheet for brazing with superior toughness and superior sagging resistance at high temp. by soaking an Al alloy contg. a little Zr or further contg. Mn at a specified temp. and hot-rolling the alloy or further carrying out cold rolling.
CONSTITUTION: An Al alloy ingot contg. 0.05W0.4% Zr or further contg. 0.05W 1.0% Mn is soaked at 450W490°C for 1W24hr to finely deposit Zr or Zr and Mn solubilized in the alloy. The soaked alloy is then hot-rolled at 250W590°C to obtain a plate having 2W6mm thickness. An Al alloy ingot having said composition may be soaked at 450W590°C, hot rolled to 2W6mm thickness at 250W590°C, annealed at 250W450°C, and worked into a sheet having 0.05W0.2mm thickness by cold rolling. Thus, an Al alloy sheet for brazing with superior sagging resistance at high temp. and superior toughness can be manufactured.
