Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the effect of the shape of a supporting tool to the electrical performance of an antenna and at the same time to enhance the weather resistance, by fixing a supporting tool which is used for a microstrip antenna to a waterproof cover. CONSTITUTION:A dome-shaped waterproof cover 9 made of a dielectric material which covers the front of a microstrip antenna is attached to the antenna consisting of a metallic foil radiation element 2 formed on a dielectric substrate 1, a feeder 7 and a back cavity 5. Then one or more numbers of linear metallic waveguides 3 are supported in parallel to each other with a prescribed space secured by means of a supporting tool 6 made of a thin dielectric material. One side of the tool 6 is fixed to the inner side of the cover 9. The tool 6 is made by combining a sheet of the thin dielectric flat plate with another dielectric flat plate.
