CONSTITUTION: Novel bacteria capable of producing coenzyme Q10 e.g. Protaminobacter methanolica BP-3 (FERM-P No.4893), Protaminobacter methanolica BP-11 (FERM-P No.4894), etc. are cultured in a medium containing carbon sources such as glucose, xylose, methanol, etc., nitrogen sources such as urea, nitrates, etc., and other inorganic components, and the cultured bacterial cells are separated from the medium. Coenzyme Q10 is extracted from the bacterial cell by conventional extraction technique such as ethanol extraction, etc., and fractionated and purified to obtain the objective substance.
