Abstract

PURPOSE:To measure the coloring characteristics of test pieces without using mechanical constitution by operating the plural static light sources corresponding to test items to flicker successively. CONSTITUTION:Test paper 1 is constituted beforehand of n-items of test item numbers 2a-2n corresponding to its test purposes. Static light sources 3 are constituted of (n+1) pieces of lamps 3a-(3n+1) corresponding to the items 2a-2n and a reference area 4. Photocnducting means 5 are provided with (n+1) pieces of photodetecting parts 6a-(6n+1) arranged in the positions suited for detecting the beams of reflected light from the light sources 3 respectively discretely. The light sources 3 are so constituted as to permit on-off operations respectively discretely, and are operated to flicker successively according to the test item numbers of the test paper, thereby irradiating the test item pieces of the test paper by each piece. The beams of the reflected light irradiated by each of the test items are detected by the means 5, are introduced successively into a spectroscope 10 and are converted to electric signals 13 by a photodiode array 12.
