PURPOSE:To obtain a seat easy to be operated by a pedal and elastically supported in general to be vertically movable by providing a fixing means linked with the operation of a pedal restraining the vertical movability of the seat to the fixed side. CONSTITUTION:In a fixing means A, a ratchet pawl 29 pivotted on a bracket 28 provided on a fixed frame 4 is constructed to be freely caught or released by a saw- toothed piece 30 provided on the back of a guided part 13 of a lift frame 12. The ratchet pawl 29 is given a force by a spring 31 to be constantly separated from the saw-toothed piece, and an inner wire 32 is connected to the end part of the spring 31 on the ratchet pawl 29. An outer wire 33 is fitted to cover the inner wire 32, and fixed on a fitting base 34 of the fixed frame 4. A relay device B is provided between the fixing means A and a pedal 35, and changes a stepping operation into one motion to transmit it to the fixing means A.
