Abstract
PURPOSE: To remarkably increase the grade enhancing effect by thermally decomposing manganese ammonium carbamate and roasting the resulting manganese carbonate under specified conditions.
CONSTITUTION: Manganese ammonium carbamate is heated to about 80°C to obtain manganese carbonate, and this manganese carbonate is roasted at ≥270°C in an oxygen atmosphere contg. ≥5% steam under ordinary pressure W4 atm gauge pressure. Manganese dioxide obtd. by this method is amorphous manganese dioxide of high grade suitable for a cell.
