CONSTITUTION:The extents of movement (x), (y), (z), (u), (v), and (w) in respective axial directions and the speed (f) of a tool in the space, recorded on a command tape 10, are decoded by an input circuit 11 and stored in registers 1215, and 20-22. Then, a driving-pulse generating circuit 23 calculates the real-time movement distance (X<2>+Y<2>+Z<2>)<1/2> of the tool from command data regarding the extents of movement of the tool stored in the registers 12-14 and 20-22. Then, driving pulses having a frequency proportional to the ratio f/(X<2>+Y<2>+Z<2>)<1/2> of the command speed (f) of the tool stored in the feed speed register 15 and the calculated distance are generated and inputted to an interpolator 16 to perform prescribed interpolation. A clamping circuit clamps the frequency F of the driving pulses to a maximum frequency Fmax.
