Abstract

PURPOSE:To realize various display function with a simple means for a liquid crystal display device making use of a polarizing effect, by distributing movably a polarizing plate to the liquid crystal display device. CONSTITUTION:A fixed polarizing plate 2' and a mobile polarizing plate 2 are distributed to a liquid crystal display device 1. For instance ''10+3=13'' is displayed on the device 1 in a state under which the plate 2 is pushed down to the lower part in the diagram and set out of the surface of the device 1. The display ''13'' is not visible at the part on the device 1 where no plate 2 exists. Then an answer button 10 is pushed down, and accordingly a stopper 6 turns in a direction of arrow A centering on a shaft 7 and via a lever 9 and a spring 8 to release the engagement with a projection part 5. Thus the plate 2 is pulled up by a spring 4 to be set on the surface of the device 1, and an answer ''13'' is visible.
