Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a profile device where the inclination of the spindle is reduced as much as possible, by lifting the spindle relatively against the case through the cam function.
CONSTITUTION: Upon contact of a stylus (S) against the lifting face of a model, a spindle radial displacement detecting means 40 will detect the inclination of the spindle 6 through a resistor, and a motor 52 is driven on the basis of the detected signal thus to rotate a cam 51. Consequently the spindle 6 will lift against the case 5 and continue the lifting until the signal from the detecting meand 40 will go to zero. When the signal from said means 40 goes to zero the cam 51 will return to the original lift zero state. Consequently the spindle 6 will scarcely incline resulting in the highly accurate profiling work.
