Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a highly reliable pipe joint, by interposing a washer-shaped material the both sides of which are clad with soldering material, or an annular soldering material, between a hollow polygonal rod and a screw threaded hollow rod at the pipe jointing of a heat exchanger.
CONSTITUTION: A flat part 21 of header 2, the inside and outside of which are clad with soldering material, is fitted to the outisde of a refrigerant pipe 1. A washer-shaped material 5 having a circular hole at its center is interposed between the surface of a hollow hexagonal rod 3 and that of a screw threaded hollow rod 4, both surfaces are facing each other. At said state, the rod 3, material 5 and the rod 4 are inserted to the circular-pipe part 22 of the pipe 2, and fitted by expand-caulking, and then heated in a heating furnace to melt and freeze the soldering material so as to fix the connecting part. Thus the rods 3, 4 are brought into one body; and an enough force is applied to tighten the rod 3 to an objective side union with using spanner.
