Abstract

CONSTITUTION:Grooved small recess 5a and 5b are formed in many group in the horizontal and vertical direction on the inner face of a face plate 4. The small recess 5a, 5b are provided discontinuously such that one small recess group is located between the other small recess groups. Then phosphor material dots R, G, B are formed in the region surrounded by the grooved small recess sections 5a, 5b. Consequently the utilization of light can be improved by reflecting the light emitted from the phosphor subsistance at the grooved small recess section while since the grooved small recess section is discontinuous the strength of the face plate isn't lowered.
