Abstract

PURPOSE: To conduct low NOx combustion in the captioned combustion method under conditions of a specific temperature and oxygen concentration by a method wherein a plurality of groups each of which is composed of a main burner, an additional fuel injector, an additional air injector are provided and each of a plurality of the injectors is synchronized with a main burner in their operation.
CONSTITUTION: Additional fuel injectors, additional air injectors belonging to the same group synchronize with the main burner in their starting and stoppage. Additional fuel jet 101 is blown into fuel producing gas G511 wherein the temperature of the back flow of the flame 61 produced from the main burner 51 is 950W1,400°C and the concentration of oxygen does not exceed 5vol%. The quantity of the additional fuel 70 is adjusted so that the concentration of oxygen in said produced gas is reduced to approximately zero. The gas G512 produced by this method gives heat to the wall of a burning furnace 100 to lower its own temperature and to burn completely combustion in the gas. The additional quantity of air is adjusted so that the combustion gas G512 produced by such method contains oxygen of about 1.0W 1.5%.
