Abstract
PURPOSE: To inhibit the corrosion of a metal cylinder in a simplified installation, by arranging an oxygen-contng. gas feeder in a descending passage, and cycling active sludge-contg. water to be disposed between the descending passage and an ascending passage.
CONSTITUTION: A pit 3 is connected to the upper of an ascending passage B, and a passage C provided with a lift pump P is arranged between the pit 3 and a descending passage A. A feed pipe 4 for feeding water to be disposed, e.g. municipal sewage or the like, a return pipe 6 for returning active sludge collected by a sludge separator 5 and an oxygen-contng. gas feeder 7 are each connected to the descending passage A. Active sludge-contng. water to be disposed is recycled through the three passages A, B and C. In the descending passage A, oxygen-contng. gas is dissolved into the water to be disposed, and pollution indices such as biochemical oxygen demand are improved by the active sludge. In the ascending passage B, the dissolved gas is converted into air bubbles to enhance a sludge coagulating effect.
