Abstract

PURPOSE: A turbo-charger's compressor shaft seal device which is simply designed and frees of oil leakage at high speed running.
CONSTITUTION: A seal plate 16 is firmly fit on the surface of a thrust bearing 8 opposed to a back plate 7 and a folded part 23 or an extension of the plate 16 is formed and fit on the external peripheral face of the thrust bearing 8. The end of the folded part 23 is tightly inserted in an entire guide groove 24 made in the face of a center housing 2 except a notched part 15. The lower end of the seal plate 16 extends into a drain port 13 in such a manner that a partition plate 21 projecting from the notched area 15 of the thrust bearing 8 covers the notched area 15.
