Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve the durability of a brake by providing, in addition to a counter balance valve, a shuttle valve which quickly releases a brake when a motor starts operating and activates the brake after the stop of the motor when the brake is applied.
CONSTITUTION: When a valve 16 is converted to the left side, pressure oil enters into a port 6, causing a sppol 10 in a counter balance valve 1 to move right. Thus, the oil pressure also enters into a chamber 30 in a shuttle valve 2 and a port 8 leads to a groove 36 to close a groove 37, as a plunger 29 moves right. The oil pressure in the port 8 enters into an oil chamber 27 through a port 42, releasing a brake 24. When the brake is applied with a valve 16 being neutral in this condition, the pressure in the room is set in the tank pressure and that in a chamber 50 sets in the discharge pressure of a motor 23, so that the plunger 29 moves left over the neutral position. This allows a port 9 to lead a groove 38, closing the groove 37 to maintain the brake 24 in release condition with the pressure oil of the port 9. When the force of inertia of the motor 23 becomes less, the plunger 29 is set in neutral, causing the chamber 27 to lead to the tank to activate the brake 24.
