Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a sintered oilless bearing improved in wear resistance the resistance to impact, etc., by dispersing one of oxides or nitrides of Al, Zr, Ti into a low-temperature-annealed martensite base.
CONSTITUTION: The sintered oilless bearing comprises a low-temperature-annealed martensite base that includes 1.0W6.0wt% of Ni, 0.3W2.0wt% Mn, 0.5W2.0wt% of Cu, 0.5W2.0wt% of Cr, 0.4W0.8wt% of C, 0.5W4.0wt% of one of Al2O3, ZrO2TiO3, AlN, ZrN or TiN, and balance of Fe, the metal structure is strengthened by the dispersion of Al2O3 or the like, and its hardness HRA is 50 or above, and its sinter density is in the range from 6.0W6.6g/cm2. A powder mixture of simple metals for example with Al2O3 that will have the composition mentioned above, or a powder that has been prepared by partly or completely alloying said powder mixture is molded, sintered and hardened, and immediately thereafter it is subjected to subzero treatment. Thus a matensitic uniform structure is obtained. Then it is subjected to cold tempering to remove the internal strains and to improve the wear resistance and toughness. Al2O3 exhibits hardness most in the base, and acts to support a shaft however if the content is below the minimum, it does not show the effect, and if the content is above the maximum limit, its strength is reduced, and the wear of a shaft will be accelerated.
