Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the adequteness degree of the finish temperature of a converter operation and control the finish temperature at the optimum value by a method wherein a correction term determined by the mixing ratios of molten pig iron is added to a temperature rise model used for a dynamic control of the finish temperature of a converter operation for refining. CONSTITUTION:For the dynamic control of the finish temperature of the converter operation for refining, a temperature rise model is used which represents the temperature rise rate per unit amount of blown oxygen dT/dQ in terms of the factors as follows: dT/dQ=F([C]i, Bi, Fi, Ei, Oi, Ii, Ki,). where i is the heat number, [C] is the carbon content of the steel bath, Q is the amount (Nm<3>) of blown oxygen, B is the blowing pattern, F is the amount of flux charged, E is the contents of other components (Si, Mn, P, etc.), O is the amount of iron ores charged, I is the initial conditions and K is a model factor. To this basis temperature rise model is added the correction term which depends on the amount of undissolved scraps and is determined by the mixing ratios of the molten pig iron. Accordingly, it is made possible to control the finish temperature following up to the change in the mixing ratios of the molten pig iron.
