Abstract

PURPOSE: To detect the internal conditiobs of a blast furance accurately through the measurement of the temperature, gas pressure and gas composition at each point for measurement, by a method wherein a probe provided with a plurality of detecting elements along the longitudinal direction of hard protective pipes is lowered in accordance with the descent of charged materials.
CONSTITUTION: A pluraity of heard protective pipes 2aW2f are bundled together, a guide 19 is fitted to the tip of the bundle and the protective pipes 2aW2f are fitted with temperature detecting parts such as thermocouples 6aW6f respectively to constitute the probe 2. The probe 2 is suspended slantly in the furnace and is laid on the charged materials 1, followed by guiding the tip of the probe 2 to a predetermined position on the center side of the charged materials 1. Then, the blast furnace operation is started and the probe 2 is lowered by a leading wire 6 as the charged materials 1 descend. In the lowering process, the temperature measurement is carried out continously or intermittently. In addition, parts of the gas are simultaneously extracted from each measuring point, and the gas pressure and the gas composition are measured.
