Abstract

PURPOSE:To shorten the time requirement of the exchanging work, by moving a couple of disk shoes parallelly outward, by alternately turning a couple of holding devices so as to face to the disk shoe, and by replacing the old disk shoe with a new one. CONSTITUTION:The chocks 23, 24 are parellelly moved outward as far as a distance l by clinders 31, 32 and screws 33, 34. Holding devices 41, 42 on one side are theta1, theta2 turned to positions opposite the disk shoes 21b, 22b. A holder 45 is lifted up by a cylinder 44 of the holding device 42, the disk shoe 22b is detached by a detaching machine 47, the holder 45 is then brought down, and then, the holding device 42 is again theta2 turned so as to turn to the initial position. A holding device on another side provided with a new disk shoe 22c is theta4 turned so as to make the new disk shoe 22c face to the main shaft 26; then, the holder is lifted up, the new disk shoe 22c is set to the main shaft 26 by the detaching machine, and the holder is brought down. Then the chock 24 is again parallelly moved inward as far as the distance l, and the new disk shoe 22c is mounted on the normal position.
