PURPOSE:To leave a part of the middle of web as it is unrolled in order to prevent a longitudinal elongation, and to diminish the number of rolling passes needed for obtaining a rough shaped billet to be used in manufacturing a Z-shaped sheet pile, by outward bending the tip of flange of an H-shaped cast ingot through upper and lower rolling rolls, by 90 deg. turning the cast ingot, and by applying a light rolling reduction to the curved surface of the tip of flange. CONSTITUTION:Recesses 30, 30A are formed between calibers 27, 27A and webs 24 of an H-shaped billet 24; then, the calibers 27, 27A give a rolling reduction not to the web 26 but only to the tip of the flanges 25. Hereby, the tip of flange 25 fills up the grooves 28, 28A so that the tip of flange 25 is outward reduced; as a result, the breadth of the flange 25 is widened and the outside surface is formed into a curved surface 81. Then the rolled material 34 is 90 deg. turned, and a light rolling reduction is given to a part 35 protruding out of the outer surface of the flange 25 by upper and lower rolling rolls 36, 36A; as a result, the curved surface 31 is flattened. Then, the rolled material 37 is 270 deg. turned and is subjected to several times repeated reversing rolling passes through calibers 38, 38A and is formed into a rough shaped billet 39 for use of manufacturing a Z-shaped sheet pile.
