Abstract
PURPOSE:To extract a concerned range with no decision of an operator, by detecting the highest or lowest tonal value of all tonal picture data of a process and thus deciding the tone level between the concerned range to be finally obtained and the background part on the basis of the detected tonal value. CONSTITUTION:The highest density value is obtained through the highest value detecting circuit 1 and from the original variable density data train obtained before setting a concerned range ROI given through an input terminal 1. On the basis of the highest density value and the original data, a histogram data divided equidistantly is obtained through a histogram converter 2. This histogram data is smoothed through a smoothing circuit 3 and applied to the 1st density value detecting circuit 4. Then a density section which shows the highest frequency from the lowest density section to a section of a prescribed density of the data is detected on the basis of a prescribed density section given from a prescribed value calculating circuit 7. After this, a density section showing the lowest frequency from a density section showing the highest frequency to a section of a prescribed density is detected through the 2nd density value detecting circuit 5. Thus a data in which only an ROI becoming an object having its erased background part is extracted is delivered from a data converter 6.
