Abstract
PURPOSE: To reduce the fuel consumption and engine operating noise by automatically controlling the rotating speed of an engine at no load operating time to the minimum rotating speed so as not to unstably stop the no load operation of the engine irrespective of the engine temperature and suction air temperature.
CONSTITUTION: A pulse generator 3 for generating a pulse upon rotation of an engine is connected to a microcomputer 1 via a waveform shaping circuit 4, and is connected to a no load operation discriminator 5. The computer 1 counts the pulses from the generator 3 based on the no load discrimination signal from the discriminator 4 at the predetermined interval, reads the counted value, several times, and calculates the standard deviation value from the respective counted numbers. Then, the calculated deviation is compared with the standard deviation value obtained by actually measuring the variation in the rotation of the limit stably maintaining the no load operating state in the engine. No load operation number incresing ro decreasing measns 6 is controlled in response to the compared result, thereby maintaining the minimum rotating speed in no load operation of the engine.
