Abstract

PURPOSE:To test plural test pieces simultaneously in small space by mounting a test piece between both end parts of a bent beam opposing each other at a required spacing, and expanding and contracting the spacing between said end parts thereby generating repulsive force. CONSTITUTION:Both end parts of a bar-like test piece 20 are penetrated and disposed in the mounting holes 13 of a bent beam 15 of a horseshoe shape having mounting holes 13 at both end parts, and nuts 14 are screwed respectively to both end parts of the test piece 20. When with the above-mentioned constitution the nuts 14 are tightened up, tensile load is applied upon the test piece 20. When the test piece 20 is mounted in a manner as to expand the spring force of the beam 15 in the pulling directgion, compressive load is applied upon the test piece 20. The device is made simple by mounting the testpiece between both ends of the bent beam opposing each other at a required spacing, and it is possible to perform stress corrosion cracking tedsts simultaneously by installing a large number of the test pieces.
