Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent whitening of the film and mixing of bubbles by drying an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer saponified matter under a specific condition upon producing a film of the copolymer saponified matter by a solution coating process or a casting process. CONSTITUTION:A solution of an alcohol-water mixture solvent of the ethylene- vinyl acetate copolymer saponified matter (ethylene content; about 15-55mol%, and the saponification degree of the vinyl acetate component; about 90mol% or more) is applied on a supporter. The saponified matter (i) is dried at a temperature in a range of from 0-45 deg.C under a substantially windless condition, and then (ii) also dried at a temperature in a range of from 60-80 deg.C, and then (iii) dried at a temperature in a range of 80-140 deg.C to form a film (thickness; about 17mu or more). Moreover, as the above described alcohol-water mixture solvent, is preferable one which satisfies a relationship shown in the formula, wherein SP represents a solubility parameter of the solvent, and E represents the ethylene content (mol%) within the above saponified matter.
