Abstract
PURPOSE: To easily perform strong seams within a short period, by inserting a metallic pipe into a metallic plate having a through-hole provided with plural projecting spaces and by giving an impact pressure to the metallic pipe so that both sides of the metallic plate are lifted up.
CONSTITUTION: A metallic plate 1 has a pierced hole 2 having an inner diameter which corresponds to the outer diameter of a metallic pipe 4 to be seamed to the metallic plate 1, and plural projecting spaces 31, 33, and 33. The metallic pipe 4 is supported by split type jigs 61, 62, 63 and 64 having a columnar shape of an inner diameter which is slightly smaller than the outer diameter of the metallic pipe 4, at the center, by a applying a pressure from directions (a) and (a'). The split type jigs 61, 62, 63, and 64 are fitted t the central part of the metallic pipe 4 inserted into the through hole 2 of the metallic plate 1 by leaving a perscribed clearance 5. When an impact pressure is applied to the split type jigs 61, 62, 63, and 64 from directions (b) and (b'), annular lifted parts 71, and 72 of the metallic pipe 4 are formed at both sides of the metallic plate 1 so that the lifted parts 71 and 72 are in press-contact with the metallic plate 1. At this time, a part of the annular lifted part enters the projecting spaces 31W33 of the through-hole 2 of the metallic plate 1, and the metallic pipe 4 and metallic plate 1 are firmly seamed to each other without the fear of turning.
