Abstract

PURPOSE: To make the outflow rate of molten copper controllale to specified rates with good accuracy by controlling the tilting speeds and angles of respective pans in casting the molten copper form a refining furnace into molds through a well pan and a weighing pan.
CONSTITUTION: A cylindrical refining furnace 1 is rotated to discharge the molten copper 2 in the inside into a well pan 4. The molten copper once stored in the pan 4 is discharged at a constant rate by tilting of the pan 4 with a well pan driving device 5 under measurement of the rate of discharge with a weighing device 5A, thence the tilting is stopped and it is discharged intermittently into a wighing pan 6. Next, the pan 6 is tilted with a weighing pan driving device 7, and the amt. discharged thereof is weighed continuously with a weighing device 7A. When the specified amt. of casting is detected, the pan 6 is returned to the home position, and the specified amt. of the molten copper is accurately cast successively into the continusouly moving molds 10, 9, 8 of a casting device 12, whereby cast products 11 as specified are produced with good yields.
