Abstract

PURPOSE: To properly correct the gap between a drum and shoe by moving an abutting member slidably mounted in a back plate, when the brake lever is actuated at the first time, and transferring the retarding position of the brake lever in its operating direction.
CONSTITUTION: A abutting member 15 is provided in an opening 3a of a back plate and forced to a plate surface 7a of a brake lever 7 through a coil spring 16, while in this state the length of a strut 10 is predetermined before-hand within the range whereby a brake drum may be assembled easily. Thereupon, in case that a control cable 6 is wired, when the brake lever 7 is actuated in its operating direction an upper surface 15b of the abutting member 15 is released from the lever 7 and elevated until a head 15c of the member 15 abuts to the plate 3. Thereby, the retarding position of the lever 7 is restricted as the back edge 7c thereof abuts to an axial part 15a of the member 15.
