Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate the need to operate a reception-sensitivity selection switch for every channel selection, by providing a means of decreasing reception sensitivity below that in normal reception during scanning operation. CONSTITUTION:A sensitivity control circuit 8 is provided between a control circuit 10 and a front end 2. During channel-selection scanning operation, a control signal is supplied from the circuit 10 to be circuit 8, which decreases the reception sensitivity of the front end 2. Consequently, a transmitting station having an electric field level higher than the channel selection sensitivity of an ordinary receiver by a decrease in the reception sensitivity of the front end 2 is selected.
