Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce loss of stroke by controlling the position of a lever, which controls the input column, in accordance with the streteh of a control wire and thus enabling the valve clearance adjustment of control valve mechanism built in the captioned booster.
CONSTITUTION: The space within front and rear shells 1, 2 of the negative pressure type booster is divided into a permanently negative pressure chamber 6 and a variable pressure chamber 7 by means of a booster piston 4. An input column 22 which is connected to the above piston 4 is also connected to a control valve mechanism B. The booster power is provided through a power column 17 due to the pressure difference between chambers 6 and 7 generated at the time when the input column 22 moves forward. Here, the input column 22 is made functionable by controlling a control wire 65 through a control lever 62. The control wire 65 is supported by a support arm 61 through an adjusting bolt 70a and nut 73. By adjusting distance between the support arm 61 and a point of force 67 by means of the nut 73, clearance between the valve head 31c of a poppet valve 31 and the valve seat 30 can be adjusted.
