Abstract

PURPOSE:To double the life of a ribbon with a double feed use thereof in full length by effectively inverting it with two pairs of ribbon feed mechanisms. CONSTITUTION:As a drive roller 16 of a ribbon feed mechanism 14 rotates driven, a film ribbon 11 runs with rollers 16 and 17 to be sent to a reeling/unreeling mechanism 12 to reel through a roller 35. On the other hand, the ribbon reeling/unreeling mechanism 13 unreels the film ribbon 11 according to tensioning thereof through the ribbon feed mechanism 15 and a rotary roller 34. Cores 40 and 41 are removable from ratchet wheels 41 and 41' and used for the replacement of the film ribbon 11. With such an arrangement, as broader film ribbon is used, when the upper half of the ribbon is consumed, the lower half thereof is arranged at the upper position with the vertical inversion of the cartridge for use. Thus, the double use of the ribbon is possible over th full length.
